Finally Fiber! I’ve been working on yarn with bits of Baby Alpaca and Cotton Fiber thrown in for a good mix. But I got in a shipment of BFL (Bluefaced Leicester) and Super Wash Merino. And I’ve been having so much fun with it.

I started our garden today – officially. The first sacrifice was some onions I’ve been keeping just for this event. Some had already gone bad and were fed to the compost. I finished the beaded yarn I was working on. I ended up with about 400 yards of sport weight superwash (won’t shrink or felt in the washer or dryer) merino wool. I used rayon machine embroidery thread for the beads. Lewis threaded the beads for me using a Bead Spinner. What would have [...]
